The HIB is not a traditional university in Germany. We are a business
school offering you the opportunity to study on a British management programme
in Germany. During your studies in Germany you will gain the knowledge and
skills necessary for an international career in service sector management. The
programme offers specialisms in Tourism, Events Management, Cultural Management,
Marketing and Business Management. The programme is characterised by a balance
of broad-based management studies and specialist teaching in your chosen field

available in the global economy, your management studies also include a
high-level qualification in at least two foreign languages: besides English you
can choose from the international business languages French or Spanish. From the
third year onwards the programme is delivered exclusively in English.
In contrast to a traditional university in Germany, HIB has successfully
completed the accreditation and validation procedure of the Open University
Validation Services (OUVS), which is the largest accreditation organisation in
Great Britain. Accordingly, the HIB is not recognized as a university in Germany
but is an associated institution of the Open University. The advantage of this
for you is that at HIB you will be awarded an internationally recognised degree
from the largest university in Great Britain, which enjoys an excellent
reputation of international standing. The degree certificate bears not only the
crest of the HIB but also that of the Open University. We are certain that
completing parts of your studies at the HIB will give you a competitive edge
over graduates of a traditional university in Germany when applying for jobs and
for your subsequent professional and academic development. HIB also plans to
introduce a postgraduate programme. In order to underscore the international
