The Tourism Management programme gives you a scientifically sound and extremely practice-related grounding, thus equipping you with the expertise and personal skills required for direct job entry and your subsequent professional assignments in tourism management.
Are you looking to obtain an internationally recognised qualification in Tourism? Upon successful completion of the three-year degree-level course in Tourism at Heidelberg International Business Academy you will be awarded a Bachelor of Arts Honours in International Business with Tourism Management. HIB has successfully subjected itself as an institution along with its own degree-level pathway in Tourism Management to a accreditation and validation procedure conducted by the Open University Validation Services of Great Britain. Thanks to its accreditation, HIB is an associated institution of the Open University. The advantage in this for you: at HIB you will be awarded an internationally recognised degree from the largest university in Great Britain, which enjoys an excellent reputation of both national and international standing. The diploma bears not only the crest of HIB but also that of The Open University. We are certain that the successful completion of your Tourism Management studies at HIB will give you a competitive edge when applying for jobs and for your subsequent professional and academic development.
HIB plans to introduce a post-graduate
programme in Tourism Management following on from the Bachelor's degree and
leading to the award of a Master's degree as of the winter semester 2011.
The Master's programme is currently undergoing validation. This means that if
you take up your studies in the winter semester of 2008, you can go on to
take a consecutive Master's programme in Tourism Management straight after
receiving your Bachelor's award, since as plans currently stand, the validation of the Master's programme will have been completed in good time.
The
second year of study leads to the state-certified diploma as Internationaler
Touristikassistent. With the integrated examination for state-certified
Wirtschaftskorrespondent for English you benefit from the special tradition and
experience of Heidelberg International Business Academy in the field of
foreign language
training . State recognition means that the examinations are under the
supervision of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Culture and that you receive
state diplomas at the end of the second year. This guarantees you clearly
defined, high-level academic curricula.
As you can see: Tourism studies at HIB prepare you
step by step for
an international career in Tourism: with each year of study at Heidelberg
International Business Academy, you enhance your qualification profile and
obtain a recognised award. This means that you can decide for yourself how long
you wish to study and with which diploma/degree you wish to launch your career
in tourism.
Internationality is written large with us: HIB is the official training
and examination centre for renowned organisations. This accreditation bears
witness to our recognised high standards of training. What you get out of it is
the chance to acquire a variety of
internationally recognised certificates besides your diploma or degree.
During your programme in Tourism Management we prepare you for the respective examinations.
Fraport
AG has cultivated very active and good relations with HIB for years now. Through
corporate presenta-tions, on the one hand, we enjoy direct contact with the
students. We use this opportunity to introduce them to the airport business
along with the entire range of services and products offered by Frankfurt
Airport. On the other hand we are pleased to offer our sector as a training site
for the obligatory placement, because the graduates have so far always proved
themselves to be committed and service-oriented trainees.
In the field of marketing at Fraport AG they help supervise various marketing
communication projects. The scope ranges from direct mail activities through the
compilation of PR material down to the staging of events. The aim here is to
allow them to put their manifold theoretical knowledge into practice and gain
personal ex-perience of everyday life in the workplace. So far I have been able
to gather very positive experiences of HIB students and I look forward to
further collaboration.
