• State-certified Diploma as Betriebswirt Tourismus
• optional: Bachelor of Arts (Honours)
• optional: Master of Arts

Entry requirements:
general qualification for university entrance (equivalent to Abitur), subject-linked university entrance qualification (equivalent to fachgebundene Hochschulreife), possibly qualification for entry to universities of applied sciences (equivalent to Fachhochschulreife)
- 1st foreign language English: studied for at least 7 years,
- 2nd foreign language French: studied for at least 3 years,
- 2nd foreign language Spanish: no prior knowledge required,
- Possibly Italian/Chinese as a 3rd foreign language: no prior knowledge required
+ completed course of commercial vocational training
+ a minimum of 1 year's work experience in business.
You may, if you wish, attend language classes by way of preparation.

Duration of programme:
4 semesters
Semester 1 - 2:
semesters 1 - 2 are held in German
business administration; economics; mathematical economics; accountancy; law; modules in 2 foreign languages.
 
 
Semester 3 - 4:
semesters 3 - 4 are held in German
main subject tourism: tourism institutions; tourism policy; controlling; travel and event law; tourist traffic; tourism marketing and information procurement;
tour operator management; international air transport; project and communication management; trade fair, event and congress management; human resources management; information and communication technologies; modules in 2 or 3 foreign languages;
independently prepared dissertation on a tourism management topic.
 
 
 
 
Semester 5 - 6 optional:
consecutive Bachelor's programme in tourism management;
semesters 5 - 6 are held in English
Semester 7 - 9 optional:
consecutive Master's programme in tourism management; the programme is undergoing validation;
semesters 7 - 9 are held in English
Foreign languages:
1st and 2nd foreign languages English and Spanish / French
business and tourism terminology; language exercises and style; commercial communication; economics and applied geography; translation of general and business texts.
3rd foreign language (where applicable): Spanish / Italian / Chinese
basic vocabulary and business terminology; language exercises; reading and listening comprehension; economics and applied geography; commercial communication; conversation; translation.
Awards:
- semester 4: State-Certified Diploma as Betriebswirt Tourismus;
- optional semester 6: Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Business
                                 with Tourism Management.
- optional semester 9: Master of Arts in International Business with Tourism Management.
  HIB will introduce a Master's programme for tourism management that builds on the Bachelor's
  programme. The programme is undergoing validation.

Options:
- Language examinations set by
  the London, Paris and Madrid Chambers of Commerce and Industry,
- European Computer Driving Licence.

Financial support:
Upon fulfilment of certain personal criteria the programme (semesters 1 - 4) is eligible for public funding via Meister-BAföG (Upgrading Training Assistance Act), federal government student loans, etc. Please apply to our Student Office for further details.
Furthermore, the Academy offers an attractive student funding programme.
