Rationale for Module |
The financing of cultural activities has become a central issue in cultural management, not least as a result of the limited public funds with which most non-commercial cultural activity are resourced. This situation requires new and creative approaches to fundraising, and managers with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop them. With a focus on enhancing the employability of students, the module investigates an integrated range of fundraising issues from the practical skills and attributes needed by managers with fundraising responsibility, to the development and evaluation of fundraising strategies. Although open to students of all pathways, the module will be of special interest to students of culture and communication. Due to the important role of communication strategies and techniques in fundraising, the module complements the Level 3 Module ‘Culture in Society’. |
| Aims |
