Katrin Kubisch, International Business Management:
I
realised early on that I wanted my future to have a lot to do with other
countries and languages. HIB was a godsend. Thanks to the daily work with
native speakers my language skills were consistently honed at a very high
level. Besides languages, modules such as business administration, marketing,
management, accoun-tancy and computing also play a crucial role at HIB and are a
vital preparation for employment in an international environment. Today I
can draw on the knowledge I was able to acquire during my 2 years at HIB for my
day-to-day work. The things that I often found hard and exhausting at HIB have
proved worthwhile and have reaped a valuable reward – a sound know-how!
For 2 1/2 years now I have been working as a project assistant for an events
agency in Mainz where I am confronted daily by new challenges. I am expected
to demonstrate resistance to stress, maximum flexibility, determination,
precision, care, discipline, a sense of duty and responsibility, and to deal
with things quickly and without fuss – all characteristics I learned at HIB. HIB
gave me an ideal preparation for the work place, formed me in the long
term and accompanies me even today.
