International courses of study have been the hallmark of Heidelberg
International Business Academy for over 60
years. Take advantage of our experience and expertise, and let our
international study courses prepare you in stages for an international career in
vocational fields that call for your service orientation, talent for
organisation and communication skills. The
HIB courses combine Management
studies with training in at least 2
foreign languages. The
advantage in this for you: you acquire not only the requisite know-how for
subsequent work in management, but also the communication skills indispensable
in service industry jobs when it comes to dealing professionally with business
partners from home and abroad. This way you can make full use of the
professional oppor-tunities in this age of internationalisation and
globalisation.
What is special about our study programme? Studying at HIB offers you manifold
options and we prepare you in stages for an international career: with each year
of study you expand your qualification profile and acquire a recognised diploma:
from a state-certified vocational diploma/continuing education diploma to the
British Bachelor's degree - an internationally recognised degree-level
qualification. This means that you can decide for yourself how long you wish to
study and with which diploma or degree you wish to launch your career.
HIB plans to introduce post-graduate
courses following on from the Bachelor's degree and leading to the award of
a Master's degree as of the winter semester 2011. This means that if you take up
your studies in the winter semester of 2008, you can go on to take a consecutive
Master's course in your specialist subject straight after receiving your
Bachelor's award, since as plans currently stand, the accreditation of the
Master's programme will have been completed in good time. The specialist
subjects of Tourism, Events Management, Cultural Management and Business
Management will be available right from the start.
In order to underscore the international nature of the Master's award, HIB is
seeking validation from the
Open University Validation Services. a process that has already been
successfully undertaken for its Bachelor's programme. HIB an associate
institution of the Open University. Once this accreditation is in place, you
will be able to earn an internationally recognised Master's degree from the
largest university in Great Britain. This award will bear not only the HIB crest
but also that of the Open University, which enjoys an excellent reputation of
both national and international standing. We are certain that this Master's
degree will give you a competitive edge when applying for jobs and in the course
of your subsequent professional development.
It
was clear to me right after Abitur: I wanted foreign languages to be a major
part of my training, but it should also be geared to business. This meant that a
course in International Business Management was absolutely ideal. I found the
foreign language subjects particularly informative and motivating, as we were
lucky enough to benefit from authentic language training delivered by
native-speaking tutors. During my two placements, for which I felt
well prepared as a result of the business modules, I was able to gather
important practical experience for subsequent entry into the workplace.
The professional training at HIB allowed me to earn the internationally
recognised Bachelor's degree by doing a top-up course at a partner institution.
That year in England has remained one of my most pleasant experiences ever: the
curriculum at HIB provided me with a solid grounding for the course, from
which I graduated with distinction; I also made many friends and
acquaintances amongst the students from other European countries, from which I
still benefit today.
For a year now, I have been working as a consultant for Hager Management
Consultancy and was able to notch up some considerable successes while still
in my probation period. Our work focuses on the international placement of top
managers, highly qualified executives and specialists in the fields of
information technology and telecommunications. I owe my success so far to a
large extent to HIB, because it was there that I acquired the essential
prerequisites for a good start to my career. I'm glad I opted for this training.
