We are certain that with this degree our graduates enjoy a competitive edge in the job application process and in their subsequent professional development. What is more, the British Bachelor's degree is highly compatible with existing national study systems such as those in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, France, and the entire Arab and Asian regions. This degree-level award is therefore ideal for those wishing to follow up their Bachelor's with a Master's degree abroad.

As an associated institution of the Open University, HIB is part of a top-class network of universities and colleges all over the world. In the evaluation carried out by the British QAA - Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education – the Open University ranked several times amongst the top five universities of Great Britain. The Business School of the Open University belongs to the top 1% of British business schools and is one of the few institutions of higher education world wide that holds a total of 4 recognised accreditations, including those of EQUIS, the AACSB and AMBA.

Heidelberg International Business Academy developed its study programme entirely on its own: all three years of study were included in this complex process of development. The progression of requirements between the different years is therefore balanced and the modules offered each year are meaningfully co-ordinated. In developing your study programme, HIB gave particular attention to practical relevance on top of a sound scientific grounding. The curriculum and the pedagogical concept were developed in close consultation with experts from the Open University Business School and specialists from other British universities and colleges. In order to strengthen the practical side, HIB sought advice from professionals from the world of business, and the members of the HIB Advisory Board played a crucial part in developing the study objectives of the programme.

The validation procedure calls for the implementation of stringent quality control processes that are subject to regular checks by the validating organisation. These processes guarantee that the study programme and student services undergo continuous evaluation and alignment to meet changing job profiles and requirements. As experts in the field, external examiners from British institutions of higher education ensure that the defined study objectives and the level of achievement reached by students are up to standard for a Bachelor's degree.

HIB plans to introduce a postgraduate programme following on from the Bachelor's degree and leading to the award of a Master's degree as of the winter semester 2011. The Master's programme is currently undergoing validation. This means that if you take up your studies in the winter term of 2008, you can go on to take a consecutive Master's course in your specialist subject straight after receiving your Bachelor's award, since as plans currently stand, the validation of the Master's programme will have been completed in good time. The specialist pathways of Tourism, Events Management, Cultural Management and Business Management will be available right from the start. In order to underscore the international nature of the Master's award, HIB is seeking validation from the Open University Validation Services, a process that has already been successfully undertaken for its Bachelor's programme.
