Welcome
to Heidelberg! Friedrich Hölderlin found it to be "the city of the fatherland,
rural and most beautiful". You will quickly see for yourself what makes our town
so special: its many historical sights are complemented by the stunning
countryside that provides a harmonious backdrop for the castle and Old Town
nestling be-tween the hills and the river.
Heidelberg has preserved the romantic flair that once fascinated painters and
poets and even now still at-tracts millions of visitors from all over the world.
But this isn't to say that it lives in the past. On the contrary: the city that
hosts Germany's oldest university has long been a major international location
for science and business. Numerous companies have evolved in the field of
medical and bioscientific research, creating ex-cellent prospects for Heidelberg
in the future.
Internationality is also a feature of the countless educational institutions in
Heidelberg, including Heidelberg International Business Academy, which has been
giving young people the chance to prepare themselves for an international career
in communication-oriented service professions for over 60 years now. I am
delighted that in this way several hundred students are able to discover and
appreciate Heidelberg, and, following a short, intensive course of study, then
proceed to carry memories of our town and hence its name out into the world. I'd
like to take this opportunity to say "Carry on the good work"!

Your
interest in our courses shows that you have been thinking hard about your
professional future and have recognised the opportunities that international
business has to offer. A career without borders calls for sound expertise,
strong communication skills in the major world trade languages and strong
potential for personal development. For an overview of just how we can accompany
you on the road to an international career dur-ing one of our international
courses here in Heidelberg, simply scroll through the pages of our website. Here
you will find detailed information about our courses and the optional additional
qualifications that you can ac-quire at HIB.
Since these pages obviously can't cover every single potential query, why not
come to Heidelberg for a trial day as a student, with no obligation, to gain
first-hand experience of what may be your future study environ-ment? This will
give you the chance to experience course activities for different subjects and
thus learn more about your own interests. You will meet our tutors and students
and get an on-site impression of a typical day as an HIB student. On this
occasion we would be very pleased to meet you for a personal consultation.
