We
realise that choosing to undertake a course of study occupies an important place
in your plans for the future. Your interest in Heidelberg International Business
Academy shows that you appreciate the value of a contemporary and truly
international course of study. You have also recognised that a personal
environment for the duration of study can stimulate your motivation. After all,
one thing is clear: your course of study can only take you further with active
engagement on your part. A strong interest in the subject and a constant
willingness to push yourself are vital preconditions for your success, both as a
student and in your career. With our study concept, we are certain that we can
make a valuable contribution towards your professional achievement and justify
the trust you place in us.
Expertise
and experience in vocational training are the hallmarks of Heidelberg
International Business Academy. For over 60 years now, we have been preparing
our students for careers in international service professions: the first
vocational college at the Academy received state recognition as early as 1948.
There are very few private establishments with such a long history of experience
and endorsement. Today, Heidelberg International Business Academy is a business
school with an international study programme modelled along British lines that
leads to the degree-level award of Bachelor of Arts (Honours). Regardless of
whether you study International Business Management, Tourism Management, Events
Management, Marketing and Media or Cultural Management at HIB: since our
foundation we have remained true to the principle of offering an alternative to
the overcrowded mass universities along with a personal setting for your course
of study in Heidelberg.
Immediately
after graduating from HIB I worked as a department manager for resorts, trade
fairs and central room allocation at KTK (Congresses - Tourism - Spa) in
Freudenstadt, where I was responsible for planning and organising
international tourism fairs of interest to Freudenstadt. I went on to head the
departments Congress and Conference Service for the newly opened congress
and events company Burghof GmbH in Lörrach.
Besides my current post as Member of the Board at Basel Tourismus I am in
charge of cross-border tourism projects at the Canton of Basel-Stadt, where I
enjoy tackling new challenges each day.
As you can see, in the 6 years since graduating in Heidelberg I have been able to experience and benefit from many interesting and varied posts in the tourism and congress sector. My training at HIB was the ideal qualification for my career. Its intricate structure means it is to be highly recommended. The focus on foreign languages combined with core business modules make for trend-setting forward-looking international training in and for Europe.
